September 1
• Fall Chinook salmon opens today. The season will continue seven days a week until further notice or Oct. 31, whichever comes first.
• Blackfoot at Dusk is tonight with Lyle Albertson. The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Court House Square Park. This is the final concert of the free summer series.

September 4
• The “We the People” honors government class at Blackfoot High School is sponsoring a 5-kilometer fun run/walk. It is a fundraiser for class members, who compete with other “We the People” classes around the state and on the national level.
Registration and check-in will be from 6:30-7 a.m. at the pavilion. The race will begin at 7 a.m.
Medals will be awarded in various divisions and all registrants will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Cost is $25 for adults and teens, $20 for children under 12.

• Adrian Ruger, pianist, will perform in a free concert in the Amusement Hall of the Chesterfield historic townsite at 7 p.m. Mr. Ruger will present a varied program, from classical to popular melodies.
