FORT HALL – Our Dad, Brother, Uncle, and Friend, Cyrus Lionel Preacher, 45, returned home to the Creator on Oct. 24, 2010, as a result of a sudden illness in Pocatello.
On Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at 10 a.m., Cyrus will be taken to his residence on “D” Street and West Agency Road, Fort Hall, where he will remain for viewing until traditional burial services on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at the Cedars Cemetery at 2 p.m.
All arrangements are under the care of Cyrus’s family and with the assistance of Bannock Pride.
Raymond Spencer, a 74-year-old Blackfoot resident, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, in Blackfoot from natural causes. Arrangements will be announced by the Hawker Funeral Home.
BLACKFOOT — Carson Hall is going to Disneyland.
The five-year-old Blackfoot boy was selected by the Make-a-Wish Foundation to go to Disneyland to make his wish of meeting Mickey Mouse come true.
Carson was born with cerebral palsy, a condition that affects brain and nervous system functions such as movement, learning, hearing, seeing and thinking. He is the son of Lisa and Steven Hall of Blackfoot.
“He’s had a hard start,” Lisa said.
BLACKFOOT — A train traveling from Idaho Falls to Pocatello spilled dry fertilizer on the tracks as it traveled through Blackfoot Tuesday morning.
The fertilizer, a nitrogen-based dry product often used for commercial purposes, spilled primarily near the crossings at Bridge and Judicial approximately 11 a.m., according to Union Pacific Western Region Director of Media Relations Aaron Hunt. The train carrying the fertilizer is a local one that primarily travels between Idaho Falls and Pocatello with stops along the way in Firth and Blackfoot.
