BLACKFOOT â Five families in Blackfoot or Aberdeen may have the opportunity to build their own homes under a program offered by the Southeastern Idaho Community Action Agency.
SEICAA is recruiting five families to participate in the Mutual Self-Help Housing program. Under the program, the families work together to build their own homes under the supervision of an experienced construction supervisor.
âTheyâre learning the skills to build their own home,â SEICAA Affordable Housing Director Shalynn Perisol said.
BLACKFOOT â The Idaho Potato Museum has been nominated for the Hampton Hotels Save-a-Landmark program and could win a substantial grant to help restore the museum.
The money would be used to restore the potato bar in the museum to bring back fresh âtaters for out-of-staters.â
Potato Museum Director Rebecca Price said they have been wanting to restore the potato bar, which was a popular feature of the museum.
âWe would use it to restore the restaurant,â Price said. âWeâre still trying to reopen that.â
