ARCO — Patricia Ellen Guertin, 58, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010 at the Lost Rivers Medical Center in Arco.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at noon at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, 2555 N. Highway 93, Arco, with Bishop Todd Perkes officiating.
MESQUITE, Nev. — Darrel John Saxton passed away Sept. 25, 2010 in Beaver Dam, Ariz., after an extended illness.
He married Dora Pyper on Dec. 15, 1962. He went to work for UPFE in Pocatello in November of 1966 and retired in November of 2001. Darrel loved to hunt, fish, go four-wheeling and being outdoors. His grandchildren were the light of his life.
BLACKFOOT — Two fires kept the Blackfoot Fire Department busy Sunday and Monday.
The first fire occurred at 10:05 a.m. at 342 E. 100 N. Sunday. The fire consumed approximately 500 tons of hay, sending smoke throughout Bingham County. The cause of the fire is unknown, but Capt. Dave Krumenacker said he believes the fire was unintentional and accidental. Total losses exceed $40,000. As of 5 p.m. Monday, the fire was still smoldering and the fire department continued to monitor its activity.
BLACKFOOT — While students at the Idaho Science and Technology Charter School will have a permanent school building next year, they will also get to enjoy grass and trees thanks to donations from a local business and area organizations.
The new school building is being constructed behind the existing school, which currently consists of modular buildings. The new school will have 11 classrooms, including a music room, media room, technology lab and a gymnasium. Now it will also have grass and trees.
