Clara Harman Scott, 87, a former Firth resident, who had been living at her daughter’s home in Pocatello for the past 10 years, passed away, Monday afternoon, Dec. 27, 2010.
Funeral services will be held today, Jan. 6, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Firth LDS Ward Chapel, with President Bruce Anthony of the Firth Stake Presidency conducting.
The family received friends at the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. Ave., Pocatello from 6-8 p.m. last evening, Jan. 5, and will at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. this morning.Â
Interment will follow services in the Grove City Cemetery in Blackfoot.Â
LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Funeral services for James Bruce Scruggs were conducted Jan. 5, 2011. James was born March 31, 1951, in Dumas, Texas, to Jesse and Marie Scruggs.
At age five Bruce moved to Blackfoot. He married Cindy Hall of Blackfoot and they raised six children together. Bruce was a 22-year resident of the Las Vegas area.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jodene Reich, mother Marie, father Jesse, sister MaryLou Keele and a great-grandson, Kole Scruggs.
BLACKFOOT — Magistrate Judge Charles Roos sentenced the first of the five individuals charged from incidents stemming from criminal activities that occurred last year while the five were athletes on the basketball team at Blackfoot High School.
Tyson Katseanes entered a plea of guilty to an amended charge of misdemeanor battery Thursday morning. Roos sentenced Katseanes to 30 days suspended jail and one overnight stay in the Bingham County jail. The 30 days in jail will be withheld if Katseanes abides by the terms and conditions of the agreement.
BLACKFOOT — The Blackfoot Broncos opened up the 2011 portion of their basketball schedule on Wednesday evening, facing off with the team that handed them a double-digit defeat just a month ago.
On Wednesday, the Broncos avenged that set back by turning in a stellar defensive performance for a 59-56 win over 5A Idaho Falls.
"I think that the biggest thing tonight was rebounding," senior guard Collin Rockwood said. "The first time we played these guys they kicked our butts on rebounding but tonight we did a better job and played as a team."
