First graders Halley Boyack and Chaz Spraker at Groveland Elementary take turns grinding wheat during the Idaho Farm Bureau's "Agriculture in the Classroom" Tuesday. After grinding wheat, teachers prepared pancakes for the students to eat. Students also milked a cow.

Kelsey Baguley prepares to scare at the Grandstands of Terror Tuesday night. The Community Players along with aspiring Blackfoot student actors will be scaring patrons from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. today and Thursday and until 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. They are closed Sunday. Grandstands of Terror concludes Halloween night. The Grandstands of Terror is at the Eastern Idaho State Fairgrounds.
Â BLACKFOOT -- Administrative District Judge Jon Shindurling heard two pending petitions on the Paul Ezra Rhoades case Monday in Bingham County.
"I do not have the authority to issue a stay of execution in this case," Judge Shindurling said.
Rhoades is scheduled to be put to death Nov. 18 in the Idaho State Penitentiary in Boise. Rhoades was convicted for the 1987 murders of Susan Michelbacher in Bonneville County and Stacy Baldwin in Bingham County.
BLACKFOOT â€“Â The Blackfoot City Council will have one new face after the Nov. 8 elections. Clair L. Broadhead, Randy Herbert and Butch Hulse are seeking to fill seat 4 vacated by councilman Robert Layton. Incumbents Rich Woodfin and Farrell D. Cammack are running unopposed for their respective seats.
