BLACKFOOT — John and Lisa Warren and her brother Mark Empey braved a stiff Idaho wind on Monday to share the Spirit of Halloween with the community.
Empey built the pirate ship playhouse for his nieces and nephews — Emma, Shad and Whitney Warren — about five years ago.
Each Halloween the families decorate their yard on Riverton Road and the ship and invite the community to share.
"Aargh, come on in," Empey told the children as they entered the aft part of the ship. "There's candy at the bottom if you go down the slide."

The blade spokes of the wheels are 3-D inlaid spearheads, the handlebars are constructed of an ammunition belt line, the struts are made from chromed M-4 magazines and an M-4 carbine is mounted on the rear of the bike.
BLACKFOOT — The administrator for the Bingham County road crew presented the Eight-Year Plan of road maintenance in the county to the Bingham County commissioners Monday.
The commissioners oversee the expenses for the county. Therefore their input is sought on the priority of the road projects.
"The projects presented are in no particular order," said David Babbitt, Bingham County Director of Public Works. "We want our plan on where we're going to be on the same page [as the Bingham County commissioners]."
