DECLO — Mitch Orme caught three footballs in the fourth quarter of Firths quarterfinal game on Friday evening at Declo, two of which were in the endzone as the Cougars upset the Hornets, despite the home field advantage and advanced to next weeks semi-finals with a 18-15 victory.
"Are you kidding me? We started 0-4 to begin the season and now we are in the state semi-finals," Firth head coach Keith Drake said. "Everyone has improved across the board and we are getting contributions from everyone."

Rhonda Wixom paints the exterior of the Nuart Theater in Blackfoot Friday. Wixom has been working for the past several months to paint and restore the theater. It is part of a restoration and improvement project that included painting, purchasing the new new sign, new microphones and new marquee lettering. The Blackfoot Urban Renewal Agency provided funding for the project.
FIRTH — The Goshen-Basalt-Firth cemetery district is having an election. Cemetery board incumbent Scott Jolley is facing Judith Jolley.
Each cemetery maintenance commissioner serves a four-year term.

What Scott Jolley likes best about serving on the cemetery board is seeing the improvements in the cemeteries. Jolley has served as a cemetery maintenance commissioner for 14 years
"At the Goshen Cemetery, we've put in a pumphouse, sprinkler system and trees," Jolley said.
BLACKFOOT — Four new board members were elected to the Blackfoot Chamber of Commerce this week.
The new members are Vern Murray of Vern's Radio
Shack of Blackfoot, Kathy Tauscher of Kathy & Company, Michelle Reay of First American Title and Davin Garlick of VanOrden, Lund and Cannon PLLC.
Their terms start Jan. 1.
"I love Blackfoot," said Murray. "I love being a part of Blackfoot.
"There's lots of potential here; lots of fun and growth," he said.
Murray is a past Chamber president in Pocatello.
