BLACKFOOT â There are some things a mother should never see. Three years ago Diana Empey received a panicked phone call from Patricia Widerburg, the woman caring for her two children. Empey rushed to the daycare to find a street lined with fire trucks, ambulance and police.
âThe cops grabbed me and said this is mom. Trish [Widerburg]looked like a zombie and just kept saying âIâm sorry...Iâm so sorry..â and then a paramedic grabbed me and said âcan you keep it together? This is going to be horrifying.â I was so confused â I had no idea what was going on,â said Empey.

POCATELLO â The United States Postal Service is looking into closing the mail processing operation at Pocatello and moving it to Salt Lake City, Utah.
Pocatello and all of Southeastern Idaho is part of the Salt Lake Postal District.
Another proposal is to extend the delivery of first class mail from overnight to two-to-three day delivery.
"There would be no changes in retail and other services," said Salt Lake postal district manager Ken McArthur. "There would be no changes in acceptance time."
BLACKFOOT â The 33rd annual Bingham County Christmas Tree Fantasy auction Thursday night raised nearly $19,000 for local organizations. The Fantasy continues today from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Needlecraft Building at the Eastern Idaho State Fairgrounds.
The tree titled "Nutcracker Sweet" decorated by Bingham Memorial Hospital's Radiology Department received the highest bid of the night, bringing in $1,750. The decadently decorated tree is a child's dream filed with lollipops, gingerbread houses, candy canes and giant snowflakes wrapped with pink and green.
