SHELLEY — The 4A High Country Conference sixth district wrestling tournament was held on Wednesday at Shelley High School. The twelve time defending district champion Blackfoot Broncos were once again tabbed as the favorite heading into the tournament and they didn't fail to disappoint, as they crowned 7 district champions and qualified 22-wrestlers to the state tournament en route to capturing their thirteenth straight district title with 505 team points.
BLACKFOOT — A trial has been scheduled for Anthony Clarke, one of the five individuals charged with misdemeanor offenses from incidents that allegedly occurred during the basketball season last year at Blackfoot High School.
The pretrial conference for Clarke was rescheduled after neither Clarke nor his attorney Dean Brandstetter were present at the first scheduled pretrial. At that time Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Randy Smith said they were near reaching a plea agreement but had yet to meet in person with Clarke, who is attending Boise State University.
John Thomas Clark, known among his friends as “John”, “Tom”, “Johnny” and “J.T.” to his railroad buddies, passed away at his home after a short illness with a cancerous brain tumor.
He was born Oct. 16, 1926, in Moreland to Harold Adams and Mary Edna Bunn Clark, joining his older sister Jeanne Siddoway, brother Keith Harold Clark and later a younger sister, Audrey Randall.
SHELLEY — The Shelley Russets drilled 11 three point baskets, 4 of those from the hot shooting Chad Leckington, as the Men in Red disposed of the Bonneville Bees 72-52 in the first round of the sixth district tournament at Shelley High School on Tuesday night.
