BLACKFOOT — A long-time school bus driver suffered a fatal medical condition Monday afternoon, causing her to lose control of the bus she was driving and strike a power pole.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Jewel and Camas streets approximately 2:04 p.m. Joann Jensen, 64, of Blackfoot, was driving the Teton Stage Lines bus with 34 students from Stalker Elementary School. She was traveling westbound on Jewel Street when police say she likely suffered a medical condition, causing her to lose control of the bus.
BLACKFOOT — Bingham County Search and Rescue Commander John Kluvers has stepped down from his position and handed responsibility to his son, Jim Kluvers, who will now assume the position as commander.
John Kluvers served a three-year term as commander and has been involved in Search and Rescue for seven years. Each commander serves a three-year team, at which point the vice-commander will assume the position. Casey Monson is now the vice-commander and Bill Brown will serve as the second vice-commander.
