SR trustees wind up school year

THOMAS — Because the date of the Snake River budget hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 8, the date of the annual meeting needed to be rescheduled.
As required by Idaho State Law, the annual meeting needs to be scheduled within 28 days of the budget hearing. So, the date of the annual meeting has been set for Wednesday, July 6.
Wally Aldous was elected to represent Zone 2 as the school board trustee.
The district's retirement reception is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Snake River High School cafeteria. Eleven individuals will be honored.

Flooding continues along Snake River

BLACKFOOT — Flooding continued on the Snake River in Bingham County as the river passed moderate flood stage Wednesday. Water from the river is flooding nearby farms and is threatening homes.
At 5:15 p.m. Wednesday the Snake River at Blackfoot rose to 11.34 feet. Moderate flood stage is 11 feet. In Shelley, the river peaked at 12.5 feet Wednesday evening—major flood stage. The National Weather Service continues to issue flood warnings for the Snake River in Blackfoot and Shelley. The river is expected to fall slightly Thursday, then remain above flood stage through next week.
