Barbara J. Manzanarez, 78, of Blackfoot, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
Funeral arrangements are pending under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home and will be announced.
Antonio Longoria, 62, of Blackfoot, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at his home in Blackfoot.

BOISE â A small group of two-day soldiers moves quickly across an open field.
Five men stack up against one another upon reaching the door of a small two-story building. On a hand signal, their leader pushes the door open and the men fan into the room, weapons at the ready.
Moments later they are engaged in a firefight, battling one "bad guy."
Dale Ewerson, president of the Hailey Chamber of Commerce, is one of the five men who tried to clear the building and neutralize the bad guy after five minutes of training.
BLACKFOOT â A celebration of life and love was on display at the Blackfoot High School track on Friday night as cancer survivors, families and neighbors came together for Relay for Life.
At least 120 survivors attended Relay. Registered for Relay for Life were 62 teams totaling 820 participants. Money turned in to the Relay committee at the start of the evening totaled $77,480.
"We will definitely meet our goal of $100,000," said Sherrilynn Bair.
SHELLEY â Itâs always nice to lead off a budget meeting with announcement of a savings.
Michael Keith of Seattle Northwest announced the successful refinancing of Shelleyâs 2002 bonds Thursday morning.
By refinancing these bonds, taxpayers in the Shelley School District will be assessed $573,000 fewer taxes over the life of these bonds.
The district received five bids in this competitive bond sale. D. A. Davidson and Company gave the district the lowest interest. The trustees had a motion and approval to sell the bonds to D. A. Davidson and Company.
BLACKFOOT â Six years ago Jason Bullock had one of those moments he calls âgut check timeâ. As a young father Bullock was diagnosed with testicular cancer.
The disease was not new to his family. Family members on his and his wife Dawnetteâs side have battled the disease.
âWhen the urologist said âitâs cancerâ it hits hard,â said Bullock. âIt is a gut check kind of thing and I had to face how I was going to react. I was just going to live. Your mental process is a big part of how you recover and live life after.â

BLACKFOOT â L. Dewayne Young commissioned an original oil painting by local artist Ken Spencer that will be presented to the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center at an open house on June 25 from 2-5 p.m. The public is invited to come and view the painting and meet the artist and donor. The painting will hang in the BPAC as a memorial gift to honor the late Donald E. Silvius, M.D.
BLACKFOOT â From the moment the booming voice of Ringmaster Brad Lee announced, âladies and gentlemen, boys and girlsâ the crowd of over 750 sat on the edge of their seats for the 75th anniversary matinee show of the Carson and Barnes Circus.
There were the usual assortment of circus acts, from the opening parade saluting the United States with red, white and blue-clad performers, to the various animal acts, the enthusiastic and energetic crowd showed their approval with clapping and cheering.

Pedro Pelayo, Jr. 23, of Blackfoot passed away at his home, Monday, June 13, 2011.
He was born June 12, 1988 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Pedro Pelayo, Sr. and Bertha Alicia Moreno.
Pedro attended Blackfoot Schools and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 2006. He participated all four high school years on the soccer team.
On October 28, 2006, he married Angela Patricia Luna in Blackfoot, Idaho.
He joined the Marines and served from 2006-2008.
He was a parishioner of the Catholic Church.
BLACKFOOT â The top fund-raising team in Blackfoot for Relay for Life is the team from the Jason Lee Memorial United Methodist Church called âAngels Among Us.â Since January, the team has raised $10,841.43.
âAngels Among Usâ ranks third in the southern Idaho-eastern Oregon region. The region stretches from Rexburg to Boise and then into eastern Oregon.
ââAngels Among Usâ is actually two full teams,â said âAngels Among Usâ chairman Tom Drysdale. Each team is made up of 20 people so 40 people participate on these teams.
