Harold Clifford Valentine, 90, of Blackfoot passed away Friday, July 8, 2011, at his home from causes incident to age.
He was born Aug. 16, 1920, in Ainsworth, Neb., to Harold Randolph Valentine and Eva VonLear Keech.
He attended school in Ainsworth, Neb., and was an All-State player in football and basketball.

Marcella R. Torrez, 77

Marcella R. Torrez, 77, of Basalt passed away Monday, July 11, 2011, at her home.
Funeral arrangements are pending under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home.

Clyde Beverland, 83

July 12, 2011

Clyde Seymour Beverland, 83, died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at the Lost Rivers Hospital in Arco from a sudden illness.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, 2555 N. Highway 93, Arco. The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Lost River Cemetery with military rites provided by the Harlen Clendenin VFW Post #7137.

Idaho Science and Technology Charter School to conduct open house Thursday

MORELAND – The Idaho Science and Technology Charter School (ISTCS) at 51 N. 550 W. in Moreland is hosting an open house from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. this Thursday.
Board member Holly Lilya said board members read somewhere that colleges were turning out more students graduating in interior design than in the sciences.
“We decided to try to change that,” Lilya said.
There is plenty of technology at ISTCS. A piano lab with 15 pianos will be used to train students. There is also a technical lab, a science lab and a computer lab.

Blackfoot to celebrate Pride Days this weekend

BLACKFOOT — Blackfoot Pride Days is this weekend and organizers have planned several events for both adults and children.
The annual event has traditionally been held in June but was moved to July this year with the hope for better weather.
Activities begin Thursday with tours of the Potato Museum from 1-4 p.m. Tours continue Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
