Sylvia Waddoups Allen, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away Aug. 2, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of congenital heart failure.
Sylvia was born Jan. 8, 1924, in Paulto Edmond Earl Waddoups and Minerva Ireta Skinner Waddoups.
Sylvia married George Allen Aug. 31, 1943, in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Their marriage was solemnized on Jan. 17, 1946, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Blackfoot, where she worked as a griddle cook at the INEL.
William “Bill” Franklyn Lewis, 73, of Blackfoot, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at The Gables assisted living center in Pocatello.

SHELLEY – Last Thursday, Shelley school trustees met in a work session to discuss long range plans and the upcoming school year.
Trustees approved the purchase of 28.65 acres south to Baseline Road and west for $350,000.
“It’s for future use,” said Superintendent Bryan Jolley.
Possible use of the land could be an addition to present facilities or to build a new school or just as an investment.
“The district didn’t own property when we needed to build Riverside,” Jolley said. “It took eight months to secure that property.
FIRTH – The Little Buckaroo had a record number of entrants this year—359.
Friday night featured glorious weather. Sheep riders and calf riders had difficulty staying aboard.
Ribbon tie contestant Brianne Bingham was so excited when she saw the calf riding. Her mother assured her she needed to grow a little bit so she could ride a sheep before taking on a calf.
