Calvin Theodore Jarmin, 87, of Riverside passed away Aug. 16, 2011, at his home.
Calvin was born June 24, 1924 in Grandy, Neb., to Herbert William Jarmin and Emma Blanche Moore.
On Aug. 28, 1945 Calvin married Una Hitchcock in Pocatello. Their marriage was later solemnized on May 20, 1960, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Calvin was the owner of a trucking company, farmer, rancher irrigation pipe mover and fence builder extraordinaire.
He was a very hard worker, devoted husband and father, and a loving grandfather.
Agnes E. Larkin, 88, of Fort Hall passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, at
her residence surrounded by her loved ones.
Rosa Gilbert Rindlisbaker, 95, of Blackfoot, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at Bingham Memorial Hospital and Extended Care in Blackfoot.
She was born Oct. 11, 1915, in Whitney to James Harris Gilbert and Jennie Swainston Gilbert. She was raised and attended schools in Bancroft, graduating from Bancroft High School.
On Nov. 9, 1934, she married Fredrick Christian Rindlisbaker in Logan, Utah; their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on Nov. 10, 1942. She worked along with her husband on the family farm in Hatch where they raised their family.
BLACKFOOT – Organizers of Cattle Kids would like to continue the Cattle Kids program during 2012.
Cattle Kid organizer Neil Anderson, veterinarians David Stanley and Tony Parsons, Bingham County commissioner Ladd Carter, 4-H Extension Educator Scott Nash and Eastern Idaho State Fair manager Brandon Bird met Monday to discuss the 2011 program.
On average, each calf gained about 100 pounds in six weeks.
The top weight gains among the calves follow:
° Zach Later’s calf gained 2.79 pounds per day.
° Taylor Diaz’s calf gained 2.71 pounds each day.
BLACKFOOT — The Blackfoot City Council approved the budget for the 2012 fiscal year, set to begin Oct. 1. The council passed the budget on a 4-1 vote Tuesday night.
The total amount budgeted for 2012 is $14.57 million. The amount decreased slightly due to a decline in the short-term disability rate, resulting in decreases across city departments.

BLACKFOOT — Bingham County District Attorney Scott Andrew has proposed an ordinance that would be enforceable between Bingham County and the Fort Hall Indian Reservation. He presented it to the Bingham County Commissioners Monday.
Andrew’s proposed ordinance incorporates Bingham County’s existing policies and defers enforcement of P&Z matters, specifically land matters on the reservation, to the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes.
The county commissioners took Andrew’s proposal under advisement. No decision has been made.

Martha Ann Jenkins Burton, 76, of Blackfoot, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at the Idaho Falls Care and Rehab Center.
She was born in Pocatello on Aug. 30, 1934, to Edward Ross and Minnie Hansen Jenkins.
Martha was raised and attended school in Aberdeen, graduating from Aberdeen High School in 1952. Following graduation she attended the College of Idaho and Yakima Business College. She lived and worked for a time in Seattle, Wash.Â

MORNING NEWS
FORT HALL — The 48th annual Shoshone-Bannock Indian Festival will continue through Sunday at the Fort Hall festival and rodeo grounds.
Today will be full of activities including an All-Indian Parade at 10 a.m. and Grand Entry and powwow at 1 p.m. There will also be an art show from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Tribal Business Center.
The annual feast will be at 4 p.m., Indian Relay Races at 5 p.m. and a second Grand Entry and powwow at 7 p.m. The second round of the rodeo begins at 7 p.m.
