William Brett Hall, 52, of Blackfoot, passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.
Brett was born March 23, 1959 in St. Johns, Ariz., to Harrison Parley and Esther Val Brewer Hall. He was raised and received his education in Arizona. Following graduation from high school, Brett attended Arizona State University, earning a BA in education. Brett has lived in Show Low and Tempe, Ariz., and in Blackfoot.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a full-time mission to Oakland, Calif.
Adelina L Marquez, 81, of Blackfoot passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at Bingham Memorial Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
She was born Sept. 23, 1930 in Manvel, North Dakota, to Thomas and Angela Rangel Lucio. She has lived in the Blackfoot area for many years.
She married Charlie â€śCarlosâ€ť Marquez. He preceded her in death on April6, 1984.
Adelina worked for Sunspice Potatoes for 25 years.
She loved Bingo, sewing, watching the food network and traveling.
BLACKFOOT â€“Â Itâ€™s official â€“â€“ 33-year-old Josh Sorensen is an Iron Man. He completed the Arizona Iron Man in November with a time of 11 hours and 11 minutes.
Sorensenâ€™s road to Iron Man was quite unintentional. Five years ago Sorensen, who is an eighth grade social studies teacher at Snake River Junior High, sat bored along the edge of the Blackfoot Swimming Pool supervising students while they swam every Monday as part of an after-school program. One day, he decided to use the time and began swimming laps himself.
BLACKFOOT â€” As the sun sets in the west each night, Scott Wood flips on a switch and a beautiful Christmas display lights up.
And, if you tune to 100.1 FM while you're near his parents' house at 544 Airport Road, you will be able to witness a synchronized performance.
"We do it because it's fun," Wood said of the display at Don and Sherry Wood's home. "It's our family hobby, something we do as a family.
"We do it mostly for the boys at Christmas," Wood continued.
BLACKFOOT â€“Â The sounds and joy of the season will fill the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center tonight at the Blackfoot High School Christmas concert. This year's concert plan to offer more than customary, beautiful holiday music from the bands and choirs.
Band Director Jan Eddington is particularly excited about a piece that will be played by the Symphonic Band. The challenging piece by Ralph Vaughan Williams will feature guest harpist Leslie Mielke and flutist Robert Cannon, a senior at BHS.

BLACKFOOT â€” Schools in the Blackfoot School District will have a three-hour early release Monday in lieu of the regular one-hour early release. The family of Dane Petersen requested the early release to allow bus drivers who worked with Dane to attend his funeral. Dane's father, Chad, also works at Miles Bus Co.
The early release will also make it possible for Daneâ€™s classmates and staff members who work with Marsha Petersen, who teaches at Groveland Elementary, or who had Dane as a student, the opportunity to attend the funeral.
Dane Tyler Petersen, 17, of Groveland passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, in Groveland.
He was born April 28, 1994 in Idaho Falls with his stunning blue eyes and perfect hair, to Chad Tyler and Marsha Richardson Petersen.
Dane attended school at Irving Kindergarten, Groveland and was currently a senior at Blackfoot High School.Â He was very artistic and loved the art classes at school.Â He also helped tutor second grade students in his Momâ€™s class.
He had worked at Miles Bus Co. with his dad and had also helped Kent Gray with his ice business.
