BLACKFOOT — A cold front moving through Idaho today is only expected to bring colder temperatures and wind to the valleys while the mountains may see up to two inches of snow.
Temperatures Wednesday and Thursday will be about 10 degrees cooler than earlier this week with highs in the mid- to upper-20s and overnight lows dipping to single digits.
Winds will be slightly higher than earlier, with gusts of 10-15 miles per hour through Wednesday night.
Things return to normal Friday with temperatures in the mid-30s and overnight lows in the teens.
Ken Kenji Ugaki, 87, of Blackfoot died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 at the Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
He was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Rexburg, the son of Gisaku George Ugaki and Hisano Akiyama Ugaki.
His early years were lived in the Sugar-Salem area where he attended schools.
He married Jane Miyuki Okamoto on Aug. 8, 1952, in Rexburg. They were later divorced.
He came to Blackfoot in 1954 and, other than a few years in California, has lived here since. He was a religious man and had attended various church denominations.
Deloris “Sally” Jensen passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
She was born April 27, 1932, in Idaho Falls, the second of seven children born to John Amos Rhoades and Sarah Edna Goodson Rhoades. She grew up with an older sister, Josephine; two younger sisters, Ruby and Betty Ann; and three younger brothers, Jay, John, and Dennis. While growing up she attended schools in Idaho Falls, Ammon, and Swan Valley and Butte and Melrose, Mont. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1950.
