BLACKFOOT -- Peyton Astle recorded the fastest time in the Tater Trot 5-kilometer run at Airport Park on Saturday. His top time was 23 minutes, 57.36 seconds.
Marlene Lyksett had the best time of 1:30.24.50 in the 10-kilometer walk and Chris Davis had the best of 43:23.40 in the 10-kilometer run.
The event was a fundraiser for the Community Dinner Table's Christmas box project.

BLACKFOOT â€” Runners and volunteers came together to raise nearly $2,000 for the Community Dinner Tableâ€™s Christmas box project on Saturday.
â€śThis will buy a lot of the staple foods,â€ť said CDT treasurer Ronda Cheatham.
Cheatham said that the Christmas boxes will contain enough food for two meals for a family of four.
In addition to its weekly meals on Tuesday, CDTâ€™s next event will be a Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 22. Cheatham said CDT officials anticipate serving 200 meals. She said, â€śweâ€™ve had just a wonderful response. People want to be a part of this.â€ť
BLACKFOOT â€” Clive Lott and Jim Lindsay are among those who are honored every Nov. 11 when the country celebrates Veterans Day.
Lott, 89, joined the U.S. Army Air Corps shortly after his 18th birthday. He spent some of World War II in England.
â€śI was nearly killed by a buzz bomb,â€ť he recalled recently. A buzz bomb was the vernacular for Germanyâ€™s V-2, an unmanned aircraft packed with explosives.
POCATELLO â€” That very large exhale heard from Idaho State's Holt Arena late Saturday night was the huge sigh of relieve from the large Blackfoot contingent as their defense made not one, but two huge stops late in the fourth quarter to seal the 34-27 semi-final victory over the Skyview Hawks.

POCATELLO â€“ A 2A state championship game berth was on the line Saturday afternoon as the undefeated Firth Cougars battled with West Side in a rematch from week one of the regular season.
In that opening game Firth was never challenged, much like the majority of the season but on Saturday, the Pirates came out fighting as they led for most of the contest. In the end the Cougars were able to fend off the pesky Pirates however as they escaped Holt Arena with a hard fought 22-14 victory.
BLACKFOOT â€” Delbert Baron figures he has easily driven over a million miles behind the wheel of a school bus in his 38 years of driving bus for Blackfoot School District 55. Because of health problems, Baron has reluctantly handed over the bus keys to settle into retirement with his wife of 57 years, Nettie.
"Bus driving is serious business," said Baron. "There comes a time in life when safety is more important than trying to do the job."
BLACKFOOT â€” Students, staff and guests were were humbled and inspired at a Veteran's Day assembly at Mountain View Middle School (MVMS) on Friday. Veterans from past and recent wars were honored and remembered.
Student Jesus Espinoza welcomed the veterans saying, "We cannot and will not forget those who paid the price for our freedom."
Shelley (10-0) takes on Gooding (10-0) in a battle of unbeaten teams with a spot in the 3A state title game on the line.
Gooding gets on the board quickly and leads Shelley 7-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Nelson scores on a 38-yard touchdown pass to get the Russets on the board and tie score 7-7 midway through the second quarter.
Shelley turns the ball over with fumble late in the second quarter, giving the Senators great field position at the Russets 38-yard line. But Shelley's defense comes up with a stop and the score is 7-7 at halftime.
Delbert Olen Bateman, 83, of Blackfoot passed away Saturday, Nov.3, 2012 at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
Delbert was born Feb. 4, 1929 in Salmon to Olen Valintine Bateman and Alma Marie Hebertson.Â He lived most of his life in Blackfoot, attending school in Pingree and Thomas.Â
On May 26, 1951 Delbert married Norma Jean Hall in Blackfoot.Â They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.Â
Delbert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Â He served many years in the Boy Scouts of America, many of these years as scoutmaster, and served as ward clerk.
