Aileen Y. Uriona

BRIGHAM CITY, Utah – Aileen Young Uriona, 83, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 with her family by her side.
Aileen was born in Pocatello on June 18, 1929, a daughter of Terry William and Afton Vermina Jensen Young. She graduated from Firth High School.
Aileen married her sweetheart, Joseph Boyd Uriona, on Jan. 24, 1947.
She enjoyed doing genealogy especially family history of the Basque culture.  Aileen worked in the accounting industry for 47 years.  She enjoyed spending summers in Island Park with her family.

Darwin Peter Madsen “Pete”

Darwin Peter Madsen, 86, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 at his home in Bountiful, Utah.
 
He was born August 30, 1926 in Blackfoot, Idaho the son of Peter R. and Martha C. Petersen Madsen.  Married Helen Merkley, June 17, 1950.
 
Pete served in the US Navy during WW II.  He was a pipefitter/welder in the construction business and was a member of local 648 of the United Association of Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry, he was also a member of the American Legion Post 23; Elks BPOE Lodge 1416.
 

Ann Lucille Jones, 80

Ann Lucille Jones, 80, of Groveland, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012 at her home.
            Lucille was born December 15, 1932 in Preston, Idaho, to Gale Cyrus and Annorah Taylor Andreasen.  When she was young she lived in Nevada, Idaho and Utah, due to the construction work of her father.
            Following graduation from high school she married John E. Jones on June 26, 1948 in Hailey, Idaho.  After their marriage they made their home in Utah and then moved to Blackfoot.
John preceded her in death on January 31, 1997.

BHS students helping grant girl's wish

BLACKFOOT — Blackfoot High School (BHS) INTERACT Service Club students will be selling Bronco Spirit T-Shirts to raise money for a very special cause. Interact is a Rotary sponsored service club for youth and has recently partnered with the national Make-A-Wish Foundation to make a local four year old girl's wish come true. Make-A-Wish is the largest wish granting organization in the world, granting wishes to children with life threatening medical conditions.

THOMAS ALTON MOON, 91

Thomas Alton Moon, 91, of Payette passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at home in Payette.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. A viewing will be from noon to 2 p.m. prior to services. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Payette. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Vesta Lee Hone Gentilllon, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2012. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at the York Road LDS Church building, 1291 West 65th South, Idaho Falls under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. The family will visit with friends from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at the Riverview Cemetery in Firth.

Tex Elkington, 18

Tex D. Elkington, 18. died unexpectedly after a short illness on Dec. 20, 2012 at EIRMC in Idaho Falls.
Tex was born Oct 25, 1994 in Goshen, the son of Ben Elkington and Carol Cannon.  Tex grew up in Goshen and recently lived in Rigby, Sugar City and Firth. One of his sisters set up a FB group, “We Love Tex”, and there are over 1,000 members of that group.

Lorin Willis Casper, 84

ST. GEORGE, Utah — Lorin Willis Casper, 84, died on Dec. 21, 2012 in St. George, Utah. 
He was born on May 8, 1928 in Driggs to Willard James Casper and Delis Stevens. He was married to Dorothy Jean Small in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Oct. 26, 1949.  This past October, they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.
Lorin was born and raised in Driggs.  He attended Teton High School where he was the student body president and a champion boxer. 

Jessica Leigh Baker, 33

Jessica Leigh Baker, 33,  passed away peacefully on Dec. 22, 2012, of a longterm illness. Jessica was born on July 13, 1979 to Tonea L. Ballard and Leslie Baker Sr., in Pocatello.  Jessica was the great-great-granddaughter of Willie George and a great-great-great-granddaughter of Chief Tendoy.
Jessica graduated from the Shoshone-Bannock Jr./Sr. High School in 1999.  She worked at several different occupations, not knowing what field to go into.
