Repair shop owner cuts ribbon

Jeff Deru has opened Meridian Street Automotive. His garage at the south end of Meridian Street was previously owned by Bill Wissert.
"I came to Idaho to be a manager for Snap-On Tools," Deru said. After he and that company parted ways, he managed a repair shop in Idaho Falls.
"I've been in the automotive industry for 28 years," he said. "I owned two auto shops in Layton, Utah."
A native of Layton, Deru said the community has lost the small-town feel he enjoyed when he was growing up.

Rockymountain Machinery to have new owners

BLACKFOOT — After 49 years, Rockymountain Machinery Company will change ownership! On Friday Rockymountain Machinery Company, a 49-year-old John Deere Dealership in Blackfoot, announced an agreement to sell has been made with C & B Operations, LLC headquartered in Gettysburg, South Dakota.
“We here at Rockymountain Machinery Company are all very excited about joining C & B Operations, LLC, and look forward to a continued strong presence in the local agricultural community”, said company president and CEO Darwin Harrington.

Former Moreland woman releases novel

Former Moreland resident Kimberly Grant always knew writing would have an influence on her life. This knowledge led her to become a freelance magazine writer and an author. Recently, Grant published her third novel, "Venom," through Covenant Communications.
Grant began writing articles in 2006 for family-oriented magazines. She has contributed to magazines such as "LDS Living," "The Washington Family" and "Parents & Kids."
