The 26 musicians who performed in the Honor Recital sponsored by the Bingham County Music Teachers' Association Monday evening offered variety delight.
"The students played beautifully," said Blackfoot resident Ken Spencer.
Performing were 19 pianists, three violinists, one flutist, two vocalists and one guitarist.
The variety stretched from the folk song, "The Water is Wide," sung by Mariah McCandless.
Timothy Baxter played a delightful rag entitled "Montana Ragtime" by Alexander.
Students, parents, babies in baby carriers and one dog circled the track set up at Wapello Elementary Monday evening.
The track for the Wapello Timberwolf Trot measured 200 meters. Every eight and one-quarter laps equalled one mile.
"We challenged the kids to walk or run one hour," PTA president Krystal Wray said.
"A quote from Will Smith summed up our objective," she said. Smith was quoted as saying, "There are two keys to success--running and reading. If you conquer the demon that tells you to give up, you can conquer anything."
