Blake L. Bales, 64, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012, in Boise.
Blake was born Nov. 14, 1947 to Gayle and Lynn Bales of Blackfoot.
Blake was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bradley.
He is survived by four sisters and four brothers. Blair Bales (Chehalis, Wash.); Kelly Bales (Albion); Jocelyn (Vic) Adams (Pocatello); Julie (Carl) Wright (Swan Valley); Kathleen (Laurie) Williams (Swan Valley); Cherie Packham (Blackfoot); Kevin (Julie) Bales (Richmond, Utah); and Steven (Anita) Bales (Blackfoot).

Osborne pitches Blackfoot past Madison, 5-0

REXBURG — Russell Osborne struck out five and scattered six hits to pace Blackfoot to a 5-0 High Country Conference win over Madison in baseball action on Thursday.
Cole Manzanares led the Broncos (8-7, 2-3) with three runs batted in. Zach Later was 3-for-4 to lead the Broncos offensively. Osborne had two solid hits as Blackfoot recorded nine hits.
"This was Russell's second complete game in a row," said coach Jeff Dahle. "He's really getting strong and stronger as season goes on.

Aberdeen Distinguished Young Women event is Saturday

Aberdeen's Distinguished Young Women contest will be held in the Aberdeen Middle School auditorium at 7 p.m. Saturday. Seven young women will vying for title of 2013 Distinguished Young Woman.
Zoe Moriah Pratt, daughter of Natalie and Christopher Pratt, hopes to attend BYU. She is a member of the Aberdeen High concert, jazz and pep band. Zoe will be playing Sonata in D Major by G.F. Handel on the trumpet.

Captain Supertooth promotes super clean teeth

Captain Supertooth, defender of oral health and arch-nemesis of bacteria and cavities, came to Southeast Idaho promoting good oral hygiene on Thursday.
Armed with a giant toothbrush, a mouthy puppet and knowledge, the giant molar taught first and second graders from Stalker Elementary proper brushing techniques, flossing, the importance of regular dental exams and staying away from sugar. He made a stop at Lillian Vallely School later in the day.
At Stalker volunteers from the classes represented teeth with food, bacteria and plaque on them.
