Timely Chunks moves to West Bridge

Timely Chunks has moved. The business that features beads and homemade wares from 30 different vendors is now at 488 W. Bridge in Blackfoot.
Store hours are from noon to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each Saturday. The store is closed on Sunday and Monday.
“Moving over here was the best move for us,” said shop owner Sydnee Hale. “With all the windows, people are able to see we have so much more than just beads.
“It gives the community another place to come for a gift,” she said.

Shelley seeks levy for fire district

Voters in the Shelley-Firth Fire District will be asked to approve a $1.7 million bond to build a new fire station in Shelley and to renovate the existing Firth fire station on the May 15 ballot.
The cost to property owners in the fire district depends on the tax value of the person's property.
If your home is worth $100,000, the rate for fire protection will increase $7 each year. This is a cost of 58 cents each month.
If your home is worth $200,000, the rate will increase $21.86 for a monthly increase of $1.82.
The installments for the bond will not extend over 30 years.

TRAPPED ANIMAL: March 21, 12:44 p.m.: A caller said there is an animal that appears to be trapped under a camper shell that is upside down in someone's yard. They said it looks like a small dog.

HARASSMENT: March 21, 6:05 p.m.: A caller said they are being chased by some bullet bikes in front of the high school and one of the subjects has threatened to kill someone. An arrest was made.

SHATTERED WINDOWS: March 22: Dispatch received multiple reports of windows being shattered and shot out.

Norma Jorgensen Woods, 92

Norma Jorgensen Woods, 92, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away
Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
            Norma was born November 29, 1919 in Groveland, Idaho to John E. Jorgensen and Mary Ann McCracken. 
            In 1937 Norma married Thomas Harrison Woods.  Together they had five children, Nedra, Sara, Sandra, Thomas and Dennis.

Obituary Elizabeth Kay Sequints, 72

Elizabeth Kay Sequints, 72, of Fort Hall, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children and loved ones, Saturday, March 31, 2012 at her home.
            She was born July 19, 1939 in Owyhee, Nevada to Raymond Warren  and Mary Stanley. She attended school Owyhee and moved to Blackfoot when she was a teenager.
            Elizabeth loved traveling to pow wows and watching sports. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. She also enjoyed going out to eat with her family and friends.        

Tina Marie Signs Cummings, 44

Tina Marie Signs Cummings, 44, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho from heart failure.
            Tina was born on March 6, 1968 in San Diego County, California to Denny Signs and Patti Harris.  She attended school in California, graduating from high school in San Diego County.
