Snake River Orchestra concert is Thursday

April 9, 2012

The spring concert of the Snake River Community Orchestra begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Snake River High Auditorium.
The orchestra features well loved music by composers including Bach and Strauss.
The concert is called "Timeless Favorites."
Admission is free. (Donations are welcome and gladly accepted.) For the last number of the evening, the orchestra will combine with the Snake River High School band and Community Choir to perform Irving Berlin's "America."

Kauer seeks Bingham County commission post

Steven Kauer is running for Bingham County Commission Zone 3, as a Republican. His opponents are incumbent A. Ladd Carter and Kirk Ogden. They will battle in the primary May 15. With no Democratic opponent, the winner will assume his seat on the commission in January, 2013.
"We need a big change in the direction of county government," said Kauer.
He said he opposes the county's intrusion into property rights through its newly rewritten zoning ordinance.

Trustees to clean roadway

Bingham County Sheriff Dave Johnson announced Monday the clean-up of both sides of the road from U. S. 91 east to the Rattlesnake dumpsite.
The clean-up will occur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the next two Saturdays, April 14 and April 21.
Trustees from the Bingham County jail and people who would like to work off some of their probation time will be doing the clean-up.
"We encourage people to tarp their loads as the loads are moved to Rattlesnake," Sheriff Johnson said. "People are losing too much material as it is moved from house to Wolverine.
