April 25, 2012

The junior-senior prom at Blackfoot High School (BHS) is scheduled for May 12. Controversy about how a "guest" is defined erupted in the halls of the school this week.
The 2011-2012 Blackfoot High School planner book states, "The attendance to prom is limited to currently enrolled, full time Blackfoot High School juniors and seniors and their dates."
Dates and guests are the issue that is being defined.

'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes on Saturday

April 24, 2012

At the Bingham Crisis Center there is a wall filled with photos, coined "The wall of shame" by the Center staff. It features grim faces of those found guilty of sexual and domestic abuse stare unkindly from unblinking eyes. There are far too many faces than necessary for Bingham County and a stark reminder that Idaho is not exempt from the chilling statistics.
