The gallery of the Blackfoot Livestock Auction was about three-quarters full Friday afternoon for the auction of the sorrel filly quarter horse named Mini. The Relay for Life team, "Pony Up for a Cure," donated the money raised to the Blackfoot Relay for Life.
Tracy and Tess Lake donated the 2-year-old filly, Mini.
Jack Webb was the highest bidder. He purchased Mini for $1,075. Other people donated items that were also auctioned.
The high bidder (two times) for a painting and scarf was the Blackfoot Livestock Auction. The bids totaled $160.
If there's one thing that comes to a person's mind when observing the happenings at Bingham County Relay for Life it's that 'cancer doesn't discriminate.' The purple 'survivor T-shirts' worn by hundreds of men, women and children dotted the Blackfoot High School football field as over 2,500 volunteers, 58 teams and numerous cancer survivors gathered for the annual event Friday evening.
Everyone had a story-with cancer being the common theme â€” similiar but different â€” both heartbreaking and inspiring.

In the bareback event, Skylerr Valentine won the second go with a 74 point ride, giving him 138 on two head. Cooper Clemens was third in the second go with a 69 point ride which puts him at 139 on two head. That along with his carried points give him the overall lead as they headed into the third go on Thursday evening.
BLACKFOOT-The Blackfoot Broncos baseball team showed how Bronco baseball can be played. The Broncos won both of their games when they faced off against the Skyline Grizzlies, Thursday afternoon.
In the first game, Cole Mansanerez started off Blackfootâ€™s scoring when he hit a nice triple and sent Zach Later sliding into home plate. The Broncos went on a scoring spree and gained five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
