BLACKFOOT — Blackfoot teens Cameron Baker (vocalist) and Josh Spencer (pianist) had their first taste of performing live music together in a large concert venue Tuesday evening in Salt Lake City and now have their first music video out on Youtube.
The teens were chosen from an audition tape to open for popular singer Dia Frampton (well known for being a runner up on the reality TV show - 'The Voice') at the concert venue 'The Complex'.
"I was a little nervous stepping out and singing that first song," Baker said, "but then I was able to relax a little and enjoy the moments."
SHELLEY — Shelley school board trustees approved the school district's budget for school year 2012-13.
"There are no real surprises," said Shelley Business Manager Trish Dixon.
"The first 10 days of enrollment will determine if the trustees need to decide on an emergency levy for the coming year," said Dixon.
In Shelley, an emergency levy is based on the first nine days of enrollment compared to the first nine days of the previous school year, she said. If there is an unexpected increase in the number of students, a certain formula is applied to cover costs of the unexpected students.
POCATELLO — Shane Parkinson scattered three hits over seven innings while Cash Cardona and Travis Robertson reached base eight times between them as the Snake River Panthers picked up a big road win against the Pocatello Rebels on Wednesday evening.
"We had men on base in every inning it seemed like," Snake River head coach Tom Strickland said. "The kids were just really hitting the ball well and really, this game could have been a ten run ball game if not for a couple of balls that we hit right at them."
