BPAC director outlines concert schedule

August 8, 2012

Blackfoot Performing Art Center's 2012-2013 concert series will feature a variety of acts, spokesman Susan Mann told members of the Blackfoot Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday.
The first concert in the series will feature "Cherish the Ladies," a musical troupe from Ireland, on Oct. 20. Dick Hardwick & Mrs. Hughes will perform a comedy show on Nov. 10. Hardwick was well received at the Eastern Idaho State Fair a couple of years ago.
Because BPAC is booked solid in December and January, there will be no concert those months.

City officials remember former councilman

August 8, 2012

Blackfoot city employees gathered at Jensen Grove Park for their annual summer picnic Wednesday evening but not without stopping to remember friend and colleague, longtime city councilman Farrell Cammack, who lost his battle with cancer in May.
Mayor Mike Virtue, along with friends and family members, were visibly moved and wiped away tears as the mayor talked about the loss of Cammack this spring.
"We miss him," Virtue said, speaking directly to Cammack's widow, Jylene. "We miss him...and he will not be forgotten."
