LOGAN, Utah — A former Snake River High School and Utah State University athlete has been named to USU's athletic hall of fame.
Shae Jones-Bair was one of the most decorated woman athletes for the Aggies. She earned All-American honors during her collegiate career.
As a redshirt athlete in 1998, Jones-Bair earned her first All-American honor by finishing eighth in the pole vault at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Her second All-American accolade came at the 1999 NCAA Indoor Championships where she placed fifth in the pole vault.
Blackfoot School District 55 board members have implemented a plan to move forward in the process of replacing former superintendent Scott Crane, who resigned in June. The plan includes the implementation of a 15-member committee made up of teachers, administrators, students, business people and ethnic leaders, along with a series of public hearings within the district to gain community input on what they would like to see in a new superintendent.
The railroad crossing on Highway 91 toward the south end of Blackfoot will be smooth by the end of the week. Workmen with the Union Pacific Railroad are replacing the crossing on Highway 91 between Lincoln St. and Grant St.
Only this section of Highway 91, between Lincoln and Grant Streets will be closed from Tuesday morning (today) to Friday evening.
To avoid construction, people can travel on S. Meridian, Shilling Ave. or any number of cross streets, said Mayor Mike Virtue. The businesses along Highway 91 will remain open.
