BLACKFOOT — The Blackfoot Broncos have been oh, so close thus far on the basketball season, losing 6 games by 5 points or less. One of those earlier season close losses were to Pocatello and on Friday evening the Broncos welcomed the Indians to town looking to avenge that loss in front of the home crowd.
Unlike the first game with the Indians Friday nights contest was never in doubt as Blackfoot took out their collective frustrations by leading start to finish in a convincing 68-55 victory.
FIRTH — Using a quick start on offense and a stingy defense, Firth buried Ririe 63-20 in Nuclear Conference boys basketball action on Friday.
Dallan Bingham had four of his team high 15 points during a 10-0 run in the first 84 seconds of play. The Cougars had a 24-4 advantage after one quarter and led 41-11 at the half.
Former Blackfoot School District Superintendent Scott Crane issued a brief (but vague) statement following Thursday night's meeting where the board voted to reinstate the $220,000 separation agreement between Crane and the district. Patrons in the district are, again, asking, "Now what?" in what has been a long and drawn-out ordeal for the community.
