FIRTH â€” Early in the match against Salmon Wednesday night the Firth High School volleyball team found themselves in a four point hole.
For the next few points the Cougars tried to dig themselves out of the hole, but mistakes were keeping Salmon in front.
BLACKFOOT â€”Â A one vehicle fatality crash occurred early Wednesday morning.
At 3:16 a.m. on Oct. 2, 2013, the Idaho State Police investigated a one vehicle fatality crash northbound on I15 at mile marker 82.4, north of the Fort Hall Casino.
Dorothy D. Harris, 26, of Blackfoot, was traveling northbound on I15 in a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am when she drove off the left shoulder of the road and into the median. Harris drove back onto the roadway and overcorrected causing the vehicle to slide into the median where it overturned and rolled coming to rest in the southbound lanes of travel.
BLACKFOOT â€” After hearing testimonies from members of Blackfoot's Independence High School student health council and Tracy Lambson from Southeastern Idaho Public Health - followed by a public hearing on a quest for 'smoke-free' parks in Blackfoot at Tuesday's city council meeting, the city council moved to table the issue until a committee is formed to study what areas of Jensen Grove could potentially be signed 'smoke-free.'

Bonnie Gail Maxie Price, 63, passed away peacefully early Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, in Arco Idaho after valiantly enduring a 7yr battle with cancer.Â Bonnie was born in Bismarck, North Dakota December 22, 1949 to James E. and Cora Nordby Maxie.Â Bonnieâ€™s family relocated to Malta, Montana where she received her elementary and secondary education.Â Bonnie graduated from Montana State University in 1971 at the age of 21 with credentials as a Registered Nurse specializing in obstetrics and gynecology.Â Bonnie married Eddie L.
Shirley Kaye Stoddard Parker of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away September 27th, 2013 at 93 years of age.Â Â Â She was the oldest daughter of Phyllis Jane Oldham and LeRoy Glen Stoddard and had survived her siblings Lila, Gordon, Keith and Cork.
Barbara Hazel (Burnham) Babneau Herland, 88, of Blackfoot, passed away Monday, September 23, 2013 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot after a short stay in the Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a heart attack in early August.Â Her health had been declining due to renal failure the last few years, but remained living independently until this time.
Edwin Eugene Kearsley, 66, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Mini Cassia Care Center in Burley, Idaho.

Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Edwin attended school in Victor, Idaho, Providence, Utah and Blackfoot, Idaho.Â He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1967. He attended BYU-Provo, Utah and Idaho Trade and Tech in Twin Falls, Idaho.Â He graduated from Idaho State University in 1995.
ABERDEEN â€” An interest in media and the impending closure of Aberdeen's J.R. Simplot plant in the spring of 2014 has prompted Terry and Cindy George of Aberdeen to take on a new venture.
The couple have opened "Home Video Studio" (a franchise under Idaho Gem State Media) at 251 S. 5th E. in Aberdeen where they specialize in video editing, video to DVD transfer, DVD and CD duplication, photo video montages, home movie transfers, video slide transfers, video tape repair and much more.
