Guelda D. Moser, 90, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Monday, November 25, 2013 at her daughter, Carynâ€™s home.
She was born April 6, 1923 in Shelley, Idaho to Abraham Roy Summers and Julia Fern Arave.
She graduated from Shelley High School.
Guelda married Burdette Pixton and they later divorced. On October 24, 1953, she married Richard â€śDickâ€ť Moser in Blackfoot. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1971. She then married Bill Hocking, Sr. in June of 1972 and they later divorced.
Judy M. Frederick West, 58, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
Judy was born August 11, 1955 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Gene Frederick and Stella Wewers. She was raised in Blackfoot and attended school in the Snake River School District.
On July 5, 1984 Judy married Ray LeRoy West in Reno, Nevada.
Judy was a member of The Catholic Church.
Cloyd W. Lee, 88, of Idaho Falls, died Monday, November 25, 2013 in Idaho Falls.
Garry Frank Butler, 71 of Blackfoot, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at his home in Blackfoot.
Garry was born November 11, 1942 in Sheridan, Montana to Irvan Harry Butler Sr. and Virginia Harriet Farrar. He was raised in Blackfoot, spent a lot of years in Salmon, lived for a time in Oregon and in Arizona for ten years.
In 1960 Garry graduated from Blackfoot High School. He served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966 where he was stationed in Germany.
Sally Ann Diers, 64, passed Nov. 29, 2013, at her home in Arco, Idaho, with her husband and son by her side.
Sally was born Sept. 18, 1949, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Myrthin Dean "Red" and Betty Louise Halverson (Thomas). She and her twin sister, Sandra, were the third and fourth of six children.
Spencer Roderic Graves, 50, of Pingree, passed away at his home, due to natural causes, on Nov. 26, 2013. Spencer was born on a US Air Base in Eureux, France on May 11, 1963. He had the distinction of having a French birth certificate, American citizenship, and was also a British subject, courtesy of his mother. At three years of age he wondered why he couldnâ€™t speak French. This sense of humor and the ability to laugh at himself served him well over the years.
Â He lived in many parts of the world but his teen years spent in England with Grandpa were his happiest times.
BLACKFOOTâ€”The malls and superstores aren't the only ones to offer great holiday bargains. One of Blackfoot's "best kept secrets" is the Bingham Crisis Center Thrift Store (34 Louella Street) in Blackfoot. It is featuring a week of discounts, a "Christmas Room" filled with holiday decor and a visit from Father Christmas himself.
The thrift store is a subsidiary of the Bingham Crisis Center operated solely by volunteers with proceeds from the store going to help the crisis center (a shelter for women and children) and others in need throughout the community.
Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday for the Blackfoot mayoral runoff election.
In Blackfoot, the mayoral candidate must gain 50 percent plus one vote to be elected mayor.
There were six mayoral candidates in the November election. No candidate approached the 50 percentile. The top two contendersâ€”Paul Loomis and Dan Cravensâ€”are running for the mayor's job.
Electors must live within the city limits of Blackfoot to vote in this election.
