SEX OFFENSE: Jan. 21, 3:16 p.m.: A woman said a man is abusing her puppy. She said she left the dog overnight and when she came back the dog was terrified of men and will not play. She also said he did not feed or water the animal.
BREAKING IN: Jan. 22, 10:19 a.m.: A caller said it looks like a man and woman are breaking into an apartment on Cone St.
GUN FOUND: Jan. 22, 4:06 p.m.: A caller said they found a handgun in the ice in the parking lot of Rolberto's Mexican Restaurant.
ARIMO — The Snake River Panthers dominated the 3A district five championships at Marsh Valley on Thursday, defending their district title from a season previous with 259 team points to outdistance second place American Falls for the team title.
"This was probably the best showing that any of my teams have ever had at the district tournament since I've been coaching," Snake River head coach Jeff Gardner said.
Jared Martin applied for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to allow livestock, particularly rabbits and poultry, in a Heavy Commercial Zone of .3 acres at 141 N. 740 W.
Martin explained his business of breeding rabbits and selling them to a company in California for slaughter.
Martin keeps roughly 1,500 rabbits on his property currently in a bus that he has pens stacked onto. Martin also has poultry that feed on the waste of the rabbits, thereby cutting down on the waste found on the site.
Taxes and a health insurance exchange were the main topics of discussion at Thursday's legislative breakfast.
Each Thursday members of the Bingham County legislative delegation speak with members of the community via Skype hookup. The Greater Blackfoot Chamber of Commerce sponsors the meeting at Stan's Restaurant.
Representatives Julie VanOrden and Neil Anderson are among 16 freshman members of the House who are encouraging Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter to include members of the Legislature on a proposed exchange oversight committee.
