ST. ANTHONY — The was a huge sigh of relief coming from the Firth side of the court on Friday evening as they held off a valiant effort from the North Fremont Huskies, advancing to the 2A Nuclear Conference championship game with a breath taking 47-46 victory.

Family opens NAPA Auto Parts store

The Smith family from American Falls has been keeping their eye out for a new place to expand their NAPA Auto Parts stores in Southeast Idaho and found the perfect opportunity in Blackfoot. They opened the doors to a new store on Monday at 1250 W. Bridge, in the old Spudnik building next to Gold's Gym. The family opened their first NAPA store in American Falls in 1998 and a second store in Aberdeen in 2008.

'Concerned Citizens of District 55" to conduct meeting on levy

"Concerned Citizens of District 55," a group formed in January to monitor the actions and decisions of Blackfoot School District 55 and share information with the public, is sponsoring a public meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center to discuss the district's supplemental levy election on March 12.
Most recently, the group spearheaded recall efforts against former school board members Scott Reese and Jenny Hong for their decisions regarding the $220,000 payout to former superintendent Scott Crane. The two have since resigned.
