BLACKFOOT â€” City workers are making progress repairing a a 24 inch sewer line on Frontage Road in Blackfoot that collapsed Monday morning, severely damaging up to seven homes on Riverton Road with sewage water, knee deep in some places.
Blackfoot Mayor Mike Virtue said that city workers experienced some minor glitches while repairing the line, which put them a little behind schedule. He said he hopes the repair will be completed by Wednesday afternoon.
BLACKFOOT â€” Bob Butler, a representative of Butler Engineering of Shelley, offered some preliminary ideas to the Blackfoot City Council Tuesday evening for building an overpass or underpass to help alleviate the train crossing problem in Blackfoot.
Butler Engineering is well known in the state for building bridges including the Snake River Bridge in Firth and the Riverton Road Bridge in Blackfoot.
Butler said he believes there are some sites in Blackfoot that would be conducive for a locally funded overpass or underpass.
POCATELLO â€” The Snake River Lady Panthers got off to a quick start in their 3A fifth district championship game against long time nemesis Marsh Valley as they led from start to finish for a 52-43 victory over the Lady Eagles.
"I knew that one of us would shoot the ball well tonight and it happened to be us," Snake River head coach Rich Dunn said. "Tonight was just one of those nights that we were ready. We weren't too pumped up and during our shoot around at four I told Mike [Kirkham] that we were ready. I could just feel it."
