Boy Scout Encampment opens Wednesday

FIRTH — The population of Firth will explode on Wednesday when over 10,500 scouts and their leaders arrive on site at the Boy Scout Encampment.
"Firth will be the 14th largest city in Idaho for four days," said Brent Stolworthy. "It's going to be a great time for all the kids."
Three activity centers have been erected on site.
All three activity centers are exactly the same, said Paul FitzSimon, who is over tower construction.
The climbing towers are 32 feet high. Zip lines come off each corner of the towers and are 300-400 feet long.

BLACKFOOT — After pulling a muscle in his arm while pitching a week ago against Jackson Hole, Blackfoot's Russell Osborn had been a little tentative playing.
During last weekend's tournament in Burley Osborn restrained his arm which took him out of any throwing activity for the near future.
The injury however does not stop him from swinging a bat.

Higham wins Von Elm title

BLACKFOOT — When Tanner Higham's tee shot on 18 went left, many including Higham himself thought the ball landed out of bounds.
Higham slammed his club into the ground in frustration as it appeared that his chances of winning the 52nd annual George Von Elm Golf Tournament when going to be all wet.
