Gene William Speas, 85,of Blackfoot passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at Bingham Memorial Hospital from natural causes. Gene was born Nov. 4, 1927, in Woodville to William Edwin and Violet Elvira (Hammer) Speas. He was raised on a farm during his childhood and was always around animals and learned to love them, especially â€ślittle animals.â€ť
BLACKFOOT â€” Chris Herres of Blackfoot worked in
mining and industry for a number of years. She taught
classes in safety and similar subjects.
â€śThis is an investigation, not a commitment,â€ť said
Herres of her interest in the program. She added that
she has long enjoyed teaching.
On Wednesday she explored a program called
American Board. It provides individuals interested in
changing to a teaching career an alternative to a traditional
path to a certificate.
Cherri Sabala, the Idaho representative, said the
program takes up to a year to complete. It requires a
BLACKFOOT â€” The start of the 2013 American Legion baseball season was delayed by a couple of days for the Blackfoot Broncos thanks to a scheduling error.
But the layoff did not seem to have any ill affects as the Broncos earned a doubleheader split with the Pocatello Razorbacks Wednesday at Blackfoot High School.
