Council adopts resolution to expand TIF District to Glanbia Foods

The Blackfoot City Council unanimously agreed to adopt a resolution to work with the Blackfoot Urban Renewal Agency (BURA) and expand the Downtown Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District to assist Glanbia Foods with some improvement projects.
Jason Moulton, a representative of BURA, addressed the council, asking for the "expandability to help businesses which in turn helps local tax revenues."

Facebook friends comment on Zimmerman case

BLACKFOOT—Amid the hype of the verdict in the George Zimmerman case involving the death of Trayvon Martin, we asked our Facebook friends for their thoughts on the case.
"It's not isolated, but we are emotional beings, so we won't let it go and keep focusing on it. He may not be in prison, but he will not live a comfortable life because he had the worst jury… the jury of public opinion," said Chris Werth of Blackfoot.

Nicolas Matthew Funk, 27, of Blackfoot passed away Thursday,  July, 11 2013 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
Nicolas was born on June 14, 1986 in Pocatello, the son of Randy Line and Patricia Detwiler; He was their only child together.
