The Blackfoot Elks are raffling a "Herby Derby" Demolition car and giving it away at the Demolition Derby 'Kick-off' Party at the Elks Lodge on Sept. 6. The annual "Herby Derby" raffle and the ever popular Demolition Derby held each year at the Eastern Idaho State Fair, are sponsored by the Elks each year to raise money for local youth organizations.
The Bingham County Commissioners approved the the 2014 county budget Tuesday morning.
"It's pretty good news," said County Clerk Sara Staub. "The economy continues to get better which will make a difference to taxpayers.
"Property owners will see a savings of $25.16 per $100,000 net taxable value (after the homeowners' exemption is applied)," she said.
The budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2014 has increased by 4 percent, Staub said. The increase is $1,103,232 over FY 2013.

Curt Ashton Jr., 31 year old long time resident of Fort Hall,Â died Tuesday, August 20, 2013, in Pocatello from an extended illness.
Traditional burial services will take place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24th at the Sandhill Cemetery in Fort Hall.
Gayland Durney Wright, 80, of Blackfoot,, passed away Sunday, Aug.18, 2013 at The Emerald House in Blackfoot.
He was born Dec. 9, 1932 in Blackfoot, the son of Arnold F. And Stenna Jane Durney Wright.
He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1950.Â He then attended Utah State University in Logan and enrolled in the ROTC program.Â He was a pilot in the Air Force and was stationed overseas and in the United States.
On December 19, 1978 he married Leslie Carr in Elko, Nev.Â She preceded him in death on July 22, 1994.
One of his favorite pastimes was reading.
