Bengals defense big in 29-3 win

POCATELLO — For the first time since 1999 the Idaho State football team is 2-0. But the 29-3 victory Saturday over Western State Colorado University was not the offensive show many expected.
Instead the much maligned Bengals defense and continued improvement of kicker Brendon Garcia where the keys to victory.

Businessman wants to become mayor

Longtime Blackfoot businessman John Hoobler is running for mayor of Blackfoot with a vision of seeing more people in the community find a good job or open their own business in town.
Hoobler shares his quest for Blackfoot's top leadership position with Dan Cravens, Rick Bigler, Carlos Mercardo, Carlos Martinez and Paul Loomis. Blackfoot's current mayor Mike Virtue will not seek reelection.
Hoobler, a Blackfoot resident for the past 24 years, said, "I have gone to high school here, worked here, owned businesses and raised a family here."

Snake wins defensive battle 7-6

THOMAS — Many people expected Friday night's match-up between the undefeated Snake River and Sugar-Salem football teams to be an offensive shootout.
But instead of an offensive show, those in attendance got a defensive battle won by the Panthers 7-6 on homecoming night at Snake River High School.
