Edith M. Jaeger, 86, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Gables in Blackfoot.
She was born May 26, 1926 in Blackfoot to Nels and Mathilda Johnson, the seventh and last child to join their family.
She graduated from Blackfoot High School and worked on the family farm. She met Ernest Jaeger at a dance in Firth and they were married Sept. 2, 1949. It was then that she began her great work in life being a wife and mother. They have four children, Steven, Karen, Larry and Mary.
She worked for the State Hospital South as a cook until she retired in May of 1988.
Joe Diaz, 87 left this world on March 10, 2013 to join his loving wife Lucy, surrounded by his family at his home on Diaz Lane.Â
He was born on Sept. 28, 1925 to Manuel Diaz and Magdalena Vargas in Augusta, Kansas. At the age of 7, he and his family moved to the Pocatello area where he was raised. In 1942 he met his life partner and wife of 68 years, Lucy Honena. They made their home in the Gibson District on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation.Â

Witness Bessie Croshaw (played by Sharon Sturm) reacts as the bailiff (played by Wayne Brower) takes away the prosecution’s exhibit—a skull and a bullet. The re-enactment of this 1887 murder trial will be performed at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday and at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Admission is free, reserve tickets are recommended since there is limited seating in the courtroom. Contact Sara Staub at 782-3160 for tickets.
Monday was Butch Hulse's birthday. He would have been 66 years old.
Appropriately, Hulse's wife, Paula, and about 50 of his friends and colleagues gathered at the Bingham Memorial Medical Plaza as the plaza's deli was renamed to "Butch's Plaza Deli" in honor of the late Hulse who worked at the hospital as a 'patient guide' and also served as a Blackfoot City councilman along with his numerous other roles in the community.
CLARKSTON, Utah — Eulala Godfrey Simper, 94 passed away on March 10, 2013 in Logan, Utah.
Eulala was born July 10, 1918 in Clarkston, Utah to Elwen Henry and Vivien Eulala Larsen Godfrey and was the eldest of nine children.
She received her grade school education in Clarkston and her high school education in Richmond, Utah.
Eulala married John Reuben Simper September 22, 1939 in Malad City, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on May 2, 1955.

BURLEY – Virginia Pearless Fillmore, age 89, of Burley, passed away early Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley.
She was known as Virginia through high school and then as Pearless for many of her adult years until she once again became Virginia when the family moved to Blackfoot. She remained Pearless to her close friends and family.

Dr. Jack VanDercreek, 88, of Blackfoot passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
Jack was born June 6, 1924 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to A.J. VanDercreek and Rita Bradshaw VanDercreek. He grew up in Council Bluffs and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1941. Jack attended Kemper Military Academy and in 1942 was inducted into the Army Air Corps. He was a gunner on B-24 aircraft and participated in the largest air raid over Germany in World War II.
Madaleen Shaffer Andrew, 79, Chubbuck, passed away, Monday night, March 4, 2013 at a local medical center. Madaleen was born May 29, 1933 in Inkom, Idaho to Enoch Edward and Olive Virginia Jones Shaffer. Mom married the love of her life, Benny R. Andrew, on Sept. 23rd 1950, together they had 8 children. Dad passed away Feb. 20th 1984. Mom, later in her life, married R D Palmer in 2005. Mom enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and working in her yard. Mom took great pride in her home, her yard, and especially in herself. She always looked the best.
IDAHO FALLS – Michael Dean Perry, 55, of Idaho Falls passed away Tuesday March 5, 2013 in Idaho Falls.
Michael was born on Jan. 15, 1958 in Blackfoot to John R. and Arlene Thurman Perry. He grew up in Idaho, spending his summers on the Yankee Fork enjoying the family cabins. The whole family learned about life with the bare necessities.

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Dorothy LaJean Robinson Hansen lost her long battle with COPD and returned to her Heavenly Father.Â
Dorothy (Dot) was born in Ashton on Sept. 16, 1934 and passed away on March 3, 2013 in Shelley. She had just recently moved to the Gables of Shelley, and, on her final journey, she had the help of the amazing ladies at the Gables, her angel hospice nurse, Kara Yancey and her loving family.Â
