THOMAS â€”Â Members of the Snake River High School student council want to rent parking spaces for student parking at the high school.
"What the council wants to do is number the parking spaces," said SRHS student body president Dexton Lake. "We would charge students $15 per trimester or $40 per year for their own parking spot.
"Each student's parking space would be guaranteed and he/she wouldn't need to drive around the parking lot looking for a parking space," said Lake.

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) -
A southeastern Idaho woman has died in an all-terrain vehicle crash near West Yellowstone.
The Montana Highway Patrol says the 84-year-old woman from Firth, Idaho lost control of the ATV she was riding as she was traveling downhill on a gravel road in Madison County. She managed to get the ATV back onto the road before it rolled. She was thrown from the vehicle and it landed on top of her.
The patrol tells The Billings Gazette the woman was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene.
Darlene Beth Bolander from Firth is the woman who died.
BLACKFOOT â€” Attorney Anne Taylor from Blackfoot appeared in court Wednesday morning on behalf of Jack York.
York is the former Internet Technician (IT) director at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
He is facing three felony counts of wire tapping (Interception of Wire, Electronic or Oral Communications) that allegedly occurred at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
The felony counts were determined by a Grand Jury of Bingham County in June 2013.
The warrant for his arrest has been quashed.
His arraignment is set for 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, before Sixth Judicial District Judge David Nye.
Blackfoot has become a sweeter place with the opening of the custom cake and dessert shop "Paisley Cakes." Businesswoman and baker Lanae Lott Workman opened the shop adjacent to the Tesoro gas station on Airport Road.
Workman, a native of Blackfoot, said she has had a passion for baking and creating desserts since she was a child baking small treats in her Easy Bake Oven.
"I've spent hours decorating cakes and perfecting desserts. Desserts have always been my destiny," she said.
The Blackfoot City Council unanimously approved the city's 2013-2014 Fiscal Year Budget for $15,481,568 during a brief meeting at Blackfoot City Hall Thursday evening.
The meeting was to be a public hearing for anyone to express opposition to the proposed budget; however, out of a handful of interested patrons who showed up for the meeting, no one objected to anything on the budget.
Blackfoot Mayor Mike Virtue thanked the council and the city's department managers for "being reasonable and patient and contributing positively to the budget."
POCATELLO â€” When the Idaho State soccer team left the pitch of Davis Field last week after a 2-0 win over Salt Lake Community College, head coach Allison Gibson said her team was still a long ways away from being ready for the beginning of the season.
Idaho State Police say a Blackfoot motorcyclist was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Tuesday.
According to the ISP report, Jimmie Moss, 35, was traveling northbound on Interstate 15 about 10:15 a.m. when he lost control of his Yamaha motorcycle and crashed in the lane of travel.
Moss was transported by air ambulance to Portneuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello. Â He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The lanes of travel were blocked for approximately 1 1/2 Â hours for the crash investigation.

Madison Kaye â€śMaddieâ€ť Bartausky, 20, of Blackfoot passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born Aug. 12, 1993 to Frank John Bartausky and Diane Marie Surdam in Blackfoot.Â Â Â Â Â
