Barbara Joyce Hatten, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was born to Gertrude and Jack Hill in December 1936 in Santa Cruz, California, and passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013.Â She raised her children in California but in later life relocated with her husband, Christian Hatten, up to his native Idaho.Â Barbara loved animals and instilled that love in her children.Â She always had a dog and cat in her home and her lap was a favorite resting place for her pets.Â Her living room was always graced with a piano and Barbara often filled the house with her wonderful playing.Â She had a beautiful
Pedro Ramirez Jr., 60, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at his home.Â
Pedro was born April 14, 1953 in Ft. Morgan, Colorado to Pedro Ramirez and Lucia Garza.Â He has lived most of his life and attended school in Blackfoot, Idaho.
On February 2, 1974 Pedro married Elva Hernandez in Coachella, California.Â They have four children, Lucia â€śLucyâ€ť, Juan, Roy and Stephanie.
Vicki Lynne Wheeler Wilson Weeden, 71, peacefully passed away, Saturday, July 7 2013 at Kaweah Delta District Hospital in Visalia CA.Â Born February 16, 1942 in Blackfoot, ID to Dean E. Wheeler and Geraldine Jones.Â Married to David L. Wilson on June 5, 1964 in theÂ Idaho Falls Temple.Â She was a teacher for theÂ Jordan School District.Â She served faithfully in the Riverton 8th Ward in various church callings.Â She was very musically talented and blessed with a beautiful voice.Â Her husband David L.
Francis Kay Wildenhaus, 76, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Ridge Wind Assisted Living in Pocatello.
Kay was born April 21, 1937, in Ferron, Utah, to Ernest S. Mower and Pearl Swenson Hancock.Â She attended school in the Snake River School Dirstrict.Â Kay has lived in Northern California and Pingree, Idaho.
In 1955 she married Thomas Wildenhaus at Pingree, Idaho.Â Thomas preceded her in death in 1995.
Kay was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Â
She worked as a salesclerk for J. C. Penney Co. for 30 years before retiring.
BLACKFOOTâ€”The Blackfoot school board is now complete after new trustees Dewane Wren and Derek Preece along with longtime trustee Mary Jo Marlow were sworn in at a special board meeting Thursday afternoon.
Wren replaced former trustee Peter Lipovac in Zone 2 and Preece replaced Taylor Johansen in Zone 4. Lipovac and Johansen officially resigned from the board at the end of June.
Mary Jo Marlow, who has served on the board for 16 years, was reelected in May for a four year term representing Zone 5.
THOMAS â€” On Wednesday Students moved quietly about their tasks, moving sprinkler pipe, pulling weeds, doing other things farmers do daily.
They are participants in the crop science class at Snake River High School.
Joining them were members of Crop Production Services, which provides
â€śWeâ€™re excited to help because weâ€™re in the fertilizer business,â€ť said Leon Anderson of CPS.
â€śMost crop consultants average about 55 years old so weâ€™re trying to get
kids interested in farming,â€ť Anderson said of CPSâ€™ participation in the class.

BLACKFOOT â€” Patients and staff at State Hospital South (SHS) can now enjoy a water fountain in the flower garden thanks to Idaho State Universityâ€™s College of Technology nursing students.
The students dedicated the fountain Wednesday afternoon in memory of a
beloved employee, Marvin Welch, who served as psych tech at the hospital
and helped nurture the garden, making it a special place.
He died in 2004.
â€śHe [Welch] helped change the culture here,â€ť said Amos Grim, assistant
director of nursing at the hospital.
BLACKFOOT â€” Sometimes during the long hot American Legion baseball season a team is going to take some lumps and have a performance that was less than stellar.
The Blackfoot Broncos experienced just that in Shelley on Monday when they were swept by their Bingham County rival Russets.
Jeanne Kay Strickland, 63, of Moreland, passed away Thursday July 4, 2013 after a long brave battle with ovarian cancer.
Jeanne was born on Feb. 10, 1950 in Marietta, Ohio to William H and
and Anna Kathryn Edwards. She was the second daughter of six children.
She was a graduate of Sheridan High School in Thornville, Ohio. She continued her education at Ricks College in Rexburg.
Jeanne was married to Thomas Keith Strickland on June 26, 1970 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.Â Together they had five children:
July 7, 2013, our beloved LaDean Hendricks was released from her mortal mission and passed from this world into the association of waiting relatives and the God who gave her life.Â During her 89 years she experienced a full rewarding life through service dedicated to our Heavenly Father, her family and others.Â She always tried to follow the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ and left a legacy of loving memories for all who knew her.
