AX VS WINDOW: March 15, 4:45 p.m.: A caller said their daughter left their vehicle at Firth High School and someone put an ax through the windshield. They said the ax is still inside the vehicle.
UNDERAGE DRINKING: March 16, 9:38 p.m.: A caller said there are 20 juveniles drinking near the archery range and Rose Ponds.
ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL: March 17, 1:41 a.m.: A man said he rolled his truck after falling asleep at the wheel. He said there are no injuries.
Matthew A. Turner passed away March 31, 2013.Â He was born May 19, 1972, in Las Vegas, Nev., to Phil and Nancy Turner.Â He grew up in Yerington, Nev.
He was preceded in death by his older brother Clinton, and his grandparentsÂ on both sides of his family.Â He is survived by his children
and Tiffany Turner of Pingree; his parents Phil and Nancy Turner, his brother Philip (Shanda) TurnerÂ and his sister Natalie (Mike) English,
all of Dillon, Mont..Â Â He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and two grand-nephews and one grand-niece.Â
Blackfoot City Council will hold a public hearing on May 7 to discuss reopening the city budget to release funds for further repairs on East Airport Road. The stretch of road is riddled with potholes and has been the subject of numerous complaints in recent months by homeowners in the area and by those who have to drive the road frequently.
BLACKFOOT â€” The Blackfoot Lady Bronco softball squad continued their unblemished season as they returned to the home diamond with a dominating 12-1, 11-0 sweep of the visiting Lady Spartans of Minico on Tuesday.
"I am just so happy with the way that these girls played," Blackfoot head coach Matt Chavez said. "My little freshmen got a couple of crushes. Cassandra [Clarke] almost took one out in the first game. I mean, they did a fantastic job because it is really tough for a good hitting team to face slower pitching and these girls didn't struggle at all today."
Norma Wilson, 65, of Blackfoot passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at her home.
Norma was born Oct. 11, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Montez Lee and Afton Franklin McLaws.Â She lived most of her life in Blackfoot.
Norma married John Wilson in Blackfoot.Â They had one daughter, Tina.Â They were later divorced.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ruth Maxine Moody, an 87-year-old Blackfoot resident died Sunday, March 31, 2013, in Pocatello after a fall.
Â She was born April 4, 1925, in Bell City, Missouri, the daughter of Chester G. Abernathy and Dolly Jane Stewart Abernathy.
She was raised in Stoddard County and Bell City until age 17 when she moved to St. Louis, Mo.Â She later moved to Charleston, Mo. and has made Blackfoot her home since 1982.
It is with gratitude for his life and sorrow at his death that the family of Ralph Gardner Goates announce his death Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello,Â from causes consistent with his age of 92 years.
22 year old Sarah Marden TrebilcockÂ passed away on March 27, 2013 from injuries suffered in a rollover.Â
Born January 16, of 1991 in Marietta, Georgia toÂ Dr. Peggy TrebilcockÂ â€¦.she entered the world singing, and never stopped.
Ronald Andrew "Runt" Waymire, 66, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Lost Rivers Hospital in Arco.
Ron was born Dec. 9, 1946 in Idaho Falls, a triplet with Dave, and Robert who were born to Donald Fredrick and Margaret Janet Little Waymire. They were the first set of living triplets born in
Runt, as he was know by his friends and family,
was raised in the Little Lost River Valley where he attended school in Clyde through the eighth grade, then continued his education at
Butte High School.
Linda Jean Fisher Empey of Boise, Idaho passed away March 25, 2013 peacefully in her sleep. She grew up in Moreland, Idaho. Linda was born May 25th, 1963 to Jack and Jean (Evans) Fisher. Linda married Steven Holmes Empey on April 22, 1982 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple. Their son, Michael Steven Empey, was born on January 20th, 1984. Linda, Steve, and Mike lived in many places. When Steve was in the military, they were stationed in Germany. They also lived in Rexburg, Moreland, Driggs, Blackfoot, Pocatello, Kuna, and Boise, Idaho, in addition to Boardman, Oregon.
