Defense on display in Lady Panthers victory

THOMAS — If you were one of the fans in attendance at Snake River High School Friday night and were hoping to see an offensive show, you went home disappointed.
Instead fans were witness to another strong defensive effort from the Lady Panthers as the earned a hard fought 30-25 win over fifth district rival Marsh Valley.

Neff sentenced for vehicular manslaughter in death of friend

BLACKFOOT — Judge David Nye issued a hefty 15-year sentence (5 years fixed/10 years indeterminate) to Charles Neff (21) of Blackfoot on Friday for vehicular manslaughter in the death of his friend Madison Bartausky last summer.
However, the court will retain jurisdiction for 365 days, giving Neff the opportunity to successfully complete a 6-month Rider Program followed by 100 hours of community service - at which point Judge Nye can reconsider his decision.
