Roberta 'Toby' Tye Cofer Smith, 99Â
Roberta â€śTobyâ€ť Smith, 99, of Blackfoot, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013 at the Bingham Memorial Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center.
Toby was born Jan. 16, 1914, Barborsville Kent., the daughter of Charles Emmett Cofer and Martha Jannette Smith Cofer. She entered grade school at Cambellsville, Kent.Â The family moved to Heyburn, Idaho where she attended public school, graduating from Burley High School in 1932.Â

Dee George Findlay, 83
Dee George Findlay, 83, of Sterling passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 at his home.
Dee was born Sept. 10, 1930 in McDonaldville, Idaho to George Amus Findlay and Zelda Ilene Capson.Â He attended school in Snake River and Aberdeen.Â
On Sept. 10, 1955 Dee married Carol Wellard in Rexburg.Â They had five children, Tonya Dee, Kent, Cheryl Lee, Lea and Clea.
Sam Christiansen, 69â€”June 20, 1944, to Dec. 30, 2013
Sam Christiansen, 69, of St. Anthony passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at the Salt Lake Regional Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Sam was born June 20, 1944, to Chester and Cleo Barton Christiansen. He lived with his parents and older brother Gerry in Lovell, Wyo., where he graduated from high school in 1962.
In a whimsical tale self-titled after a "certain family member's" nickname, local author Geraldine (Gerry) Mathias presents her new children's book: "The Tale of Strawberry Rose," just released in December.
Mathias who has lived in the Riverside area for 44 years, said she has been "a closet writer" for many years and that retirement has afforded her time to work on writing projects that have been "swirling around in her head for years."
