February 1, 2014

THOMAS — After the overtime loss to Shelley last week Snake River head coach Bob Coombs said that Bear Lake was going to be the Panthers biggest challenge for the district championship.
He was right.
A nine point lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter was cut to five with 1:42 left before the Panthers closed out the game at the foul line hitting all six free throws down the stretch to earn a 48-40 win over Bear Lake.

Nuart Theatre gets fresh look

February 1, 2014

BLACKFOOT — Although it required over a year's work of time and plenty of elbow grease, painting and restoring the interior of Blackfoot's classic Nuart Theatre was truly a labor of love for Blackfoot native Rhonda Wixom. The finishing touches on project were done just in time for the new year.
The Nuart Theatre was built in Blackfoot at 195 N. Broadway in the late 1920's and was one of the first places in Idaho to show silent films. These days, the Nuart is known for live local theatre productions.
