Bryce O. Nelson, 85

Bryce O. Nelson, 85, of Burley, formerly of Blackfoot, passed away July 12, 2014 in Burley.
Bryce was born September 20, 1928 in Preston, Idaho to Lula Violet Olson Nelson and Laretts Walter Nelson.  Bryce was the eighth child of ten.
He grew up in Thatcher, Idaho.  Bryce also lived in Blackfoot and Seattle, Washington prior to joining the Navy.  

Lorraine Anthony, 86

Lorraine Anthony, our beloved and beautiful mother, passed away from lingering illnesses on July 13, 2014, at the age of 86.  
She was born Mary Lorraine Nichols on September 6, 1927, in Rexburg, ID, to Jack Nichols and Felicia Ann (Jones) Nichols.  She was very close to her parents and spoke of them throughout her life with love and fondness.  Her maternal grandfather, T.R. Jones, was a prominent Blackfoot businessman whom she also spoke of fondly.

Troy Blaine Davis, 65

July 15, 2014

Troy Blaine Davis, 65, returned to his Heavenly Father on July 12, 2014 in Idaho Falls, Idaho; he passed away at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.  He was sent on life flight when he was placed on life support.

Paula Anderson, 65

July 15, 2014

Paula Anderson, 65, Thomas resident, our angel wife and mother returned home to her Heavenly Father and other friends and family on Friday, July 11, 2014, at the Promise Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, following a lingering illness. 
Paula was born September 20, 1948, in Logan, Utah to Lewis Clenneth Anderson and Olla Maria Jenson.  She attended grade school in Millville, Utah and graduated from Sky View High in 1966.  Paula then went on to continue her education at Utah State University and graduated with a bachelor’s in Elementary Education.

Stacy L. Jackson, 55

Stacy L. Jackson, 55, of Pingree, ID returned home to the loving arms of his Savior on Friday, July 11, 2014.  He was born on May 11, 1959 in Hood River, Oregon to Leslie LaMar and Julett Fackrell Jackson.

Girl Scouts learn about fishing

Representatives of the Idaho Fish and Game were at Jensen Grove Monday evening to help Girl Scouts of the Silver Sage Council try their hand at fishing. Since rainstorms were making their way through Blackfoot, the girls and their friends split their time between fishing on the piers and gathering together in the amphitheater.
"This is my first time [fishing] ever," said Aeris Curtis, age 9.
Byllie Baxter explained how to bait a hook.
"Cover above the barb," she said. "Fish only have a little mouth. You don't want them to take only the bait and not the hook."

Colleen Ricks Wren Wood, 79

Colleen Ricks Wren Wood, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at a local health care facility surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 28, 1934, in Blackfoot, Idaho, the daughter of Theron F. Wren and  Eltha Maria Ricks Wren.
She grew up in Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School.  
She was married to Merlin Eugene Wood who preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2010.  She was an endowed member of the LDS Church and also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Marilyn Chandler Walters Marlow, 63

July 14, 2014

Marilyn, 63, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014, after a battle with cancer. 
Marilyn was born Feb. 10, 1951 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Ross and LaFay Chandler.  She spent her childhood years in Sterling until the family moved to Wapello.
She married Robert Walters on July 25, 1968, and they had two children, Ricky and Connie.  Robert passed away on Sept.

Pearl Poog, 85

July 14, 2014

Pearl Poog, 85, of Fort Hall, Idaho passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 at her home. 
Pearl was born Dec. 13, 1928 in Fort Hall, Idaho to Peter Poog and Alice Deepwater.  
She attended school at Tyhee Grade School. Then she was hospitalized in Gooding for 10 years and got her education there.
She worked at Lamb Weston, the Fort Hall Blouse Factory and as a pen assembler for Bic Pen Factory.
In her free time she enjoyed traveling, going to the casinos in Wendover, being outdoors having picnics and watching sports. She loved watching her grandson, Devon, play basketball.

Paul Hamilton Kelly, 76

Paul Hamilton Kelly, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away on July 8, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.  He had been residing at The Gables of Ammon Assisted Living Center.
