Bingham County Easter Egg Hunts

April 2, 2015

BLACKFOOT — Easter Egg Hunts are sponsored throughout Bingham County on Saturday, April 4.
Times are locations are:
° Blackfoot. The Easter Bunny is coming to Blackfoot at 10 a.m. sharp at Jensen Grove Park. The hunt is for children up to 12 years old. Children will be separated into age groups and special needs to make the experience more fun.
° Firth. The Easter Hunt begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Firth High School football field. Kids up to 12 will be divided in age groups.

Chambers Easter Egg Hunt

Chamber Easter Egg Hunt at Jensen Grove at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4. The hunt is for children up to 12. Admission is free. Bring your Easter baskets.

Autism Awareness month Family hopes to increase understanding

BLACKFOOT — April is Autism Awareness Month and one local mother hopes people will take notice and be more understanding toward children with autism.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and autism are terms for a group of complex disorders of brain development in varying degrees causing difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication behaviors. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control estimates that 1 in 68 is on the autism spectrum. One in 42 boys and 1 in 89 girls are diagnosed with some level of autism, which is nearly a 20 percent increase compared to 40 years ago.

Woman charged with stabbing boyfriend after salsa argument

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — A northeast Ohio woman has been charged with felonious assault for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend after yelling at him for eating all of the couple's salsa.

Distinguished Dudes

Distinguished dudes will be held Friday night at 7 p.m. at the BPAC. Tickets will be $5 per person at the door.
Distinguished dudes is a fundraiser for the Distinguished Young Women program. This year their will be 13 contenders vying for the Distinguished dude. Last years winner was Benji Bigler.

Man cited following two-vehicle accident which closes interstate

An Ashton man was cited for unsafe equipment following an accident on Interstate 15 just north of Blackfoot on Tuesday.
According to the Idaho State Police, Joseph Pilgrim, 19, was northbound in a Ford pickup towing a trailer. His trailer came unhooked and struck a northbound semi tractor-trailer being driven by Warren Jones, 53, of Pennsylvania.
The trailer came to rest in the northbound lanes. Officers closed down the road in the area of milepost 96 for approximately one hour to remove the vehicles and clean up debris. Neither driver was injured and both were wearing seatbelts.

Community Dinner Table serves last supper of the year.

BLACKFOOT —The Community Dinner Table (CDT) will serve its last meal of the season this evening from 5-6:30 p.m. at Jason Lee Memorial United Methodist Church.
This last supper will be prepared and served by the Blackfoot Rotary Club and will conclude the CDT's seventh season of feeding those in the community who are hungry and lonely.
